Californian Indie private press with attitude and a stand out track that gives off Sky Girl vibes.

Not gonna tell you that it's the strongest LP ever recorded but Looking For Anything's vibes definitely appealed to me when I was digging in the US: a privately released Californian indie album with attitude and a nice clear sound. Obviously, far from being as good as Rid Of Me, it does share the minimal approach to production of early 1990's records in the vein of PJ Harvey's album (check Five Words, it kind of sounds like it's opening track). There are several songs that stands out but one could clearly end up on some compilation in the vein of Sky Girl: Langston Hughes

Not essential, but you might be happy with getting one of the only copies of this record that ever made their way to Europe. (VG+/VG+)
