Baroque / Parisian Classical
Very pleasant light-hearted from mid 17th century Parisian salons, by rarely recorded composers Jean-Marie Leclair and Louis-Antoine Lefebvre.
A few kilometers from Versailles's prestigious court, its water shows and fireworks, Paris in the mid 18th Century was bursting with music. In the shadow of Jean-Philippe Rameau, lesser-known composers like Jean-Marie Leclair were offering Parisians gentry sophisticated divertimenti, such as these "Récréations de Musique".
Rarely recorded, Louis Antoine Lefebvre's Motet and two Ariettes immerse us in the stuffed atmosphere of Parisian salons, places of intrigues and skirmishes of wit, where eventually emerged the ideas of French Lumières

Tracklist

  1. Deuxième Récréation Musicale Op.VIII
