Eiger Drum Propaganda - Live Excerpts

A lot of clever balearic jokes on this over 1 hour long CD from a jester in chief, Eiger Drums Propaganda (1/2 of the Pilotwings, 1/3 of JZBL). Including percussion-driven improvisations and tongue-in-cheek gregorian chants that reflect the looney tunes kind of mystic experience seeing Eiger Drums Propaganda live can be.

Lyon-imprint BFDM turned 10 and eventually decided to stop its operations last month, celebrating with a few parties throughout Europe. Throwback to the times these brats showed up in the French electronic scene, seriously rejuvenating a scene that was getting way too seriously into orthodox house and techno. The Pilotwings, the label's flagbearers, did a few worldwide tours, and their music eventually ended up on a Café Del Mar compilation, the ultimate showcase for a genre they have been so blatanly parodying with their own productions.

Time has passed and Pilotwings' members, Jonquera and Eiger Drums Propaganda, have become ridiculously good at producing music and playing it live. Neither one of them chose to become big, or ghost produce for "big indie" artists. Instead, they made a music that was grittier, weirder and more free in a way than what they used to do as a duo (or a trio), as they stopped parodying genres for the sake of parody. These Live Excerpts are uncategorizable, except for those familiar with the music produced by the people gravitating around BFDM and Bamboo Shows. Uncategorizable doesn't mean ungraspable : quite the contrary here, this somehow eclectic collection of tunes gives to hear a certain soundscape, probably influenced by Greece, where the musician now lives: a psychedelic and dance-friendly soundscape.(M/M wholesale: shops, contact us)
