Debut solo album by German ambient mogul Hans-Joachim Roedelius, founding member of Cluster and Harmonia. Recorded at Conny Plank's Studio in Cologne between1976 to 1978, Durch Die Wüste, is a very original synthesis of a mid-1970's Germany zeitgeist. 

Cult for many reasons: the DJ-friendly slow tribal classic, "Regenmacher", the psychedelic epic title-song, or, my favourite, the guitar-led cosmic ballad, Johanneslust. A groundbreaking album (VG+/VG+)
