Incredibly lush arrangements on this 2002 post-rock, indie rock LP. RIYL: The Destroyer, Bonnie "Prince" Billy or múm. Great sounding OG US pressing.

I Have to admit that L'Altra, just like the other aforementioned artists, is often too straightforwardly 00's indie rock-sounding for me to fully enjoy it. The singing, especially, is a little too mellow for me. That being said, I'm also able to acknowledge the brilliant arrangements and production work. I can also fully delve into the music every time it departs from the song format - on instrumentals like "Goodbye", for instance. 

In The Afternoon nonetheless offers some excellent early 2000's indie music, I'm sure many can thoroughly enjoy. Perfectly echoing the artwork, L'Altra delivers a consistent dusk/dawn friendly bittersweet indie sound of distant horns and slide guitars. (VG+/VG+)
