There's something undeniably French in this cousin of Pharaoah Sanders, a hint of Magma and Saravah, but Le Musichien is pure idiosyncrasy, a world on its own that starts once the needle drops and never totally ceases to exist in the mind of the listener. It's an hymn, the most happy song of resistance and freedom, an invitation to go out in the street, meet, unite and overthrow in a laughter. A giant mix of all sorts of influences, from latin music to spiritual jazz.

There aren't many works of art that ignite pure optimist, but this one does. Can't overstate the importance of a piece of music that tells you so openly that another world is possible, in a time when fascists seem to know a "resistible rise" everywhere, when overequipped armies slaugther populations right under our eyes, with the approval of our cynical and irresponsible governments.
