Pizzicato Five - Quickie EP

Great EP by Japanese retro pop act Pizzicato Five. Released on Matador, that brought the band to western audience. Worth the entry for Nobukazu Takemura's monster remix in two parts of "Magic Carpet Ride" alone!

Both "I Wanna Be Like You" and "Magic Carpet" are real cute songs, but Takemura's remix steals the show. Its first part sets the mood for the hypnotizingly long second part to break in abruptly. Pure lysergic energy by one of the greatest psychedelic wizards of his time. (VG+/VG+)
