Revolum - LP
France, 1975
Occitan / Traditional / Folk

Occitan folk singer and witch-like figure Rosina de Peira's solo debut on Revolum. A solid album of folk from the South of France, good from start to finish. Highly recommended.
Occitan folk holds a special place in the french folk revival scene, thanks to two labels that promoted music from South-West France : Ventadorn and Revolum, both documenting the complexity of the region's musical heritage. Rosina De Peira, founder of Revolum, was also one of the most memorable voice of the scene, alongside her daughter, Martina de Peira.
This is her first solo album, and though quite a cheap LP, it's just as good as some of the very expensive records on these labels by Miquela or Regrelh.  (VG+/VG+)
