A very solar energy emanates from this flawless LP of post-Abbey Road psychedelic folk rock. Though it's not very well known outside of Japan, this one-shot studio project by some of the best and most innovative Japanese pop musicians of their generation is a blueprint for 1970's Japanese psychedelia and a cult LP amongst Japanese collectors. A record I have been told about a few times before actually finding a copy.
It's the exact same blend of influences that will give birth to the pre-YMO Hosono's albums that you find on that LP, a very complex combination of Nick Drake and The Beach Boys, a sun-drenched and humorous take on existentially doomed western folk and rock. A record that explains a lot about the obsession of people a little older than myself with Japan, I guess... (very clean copy, no obi VG+/VG+)
