One of 2022 biggest sensations in our small European ecosystem was the hours-long, mp3 only debut release of Dutch duo Voice Actor on Stroom. Eventually, the label released a selection of some of the best tracks from the gigantic mixtape Sent From My Telephone on vinyl, under the extremely fitting name Fake Sleep.

Unclassifiable but brutally contemporaneous, Voice Actor's set of lethargic murmured bedroom pop, is a mix of bleak Benelux ambient post-punk, liquid trap beats and atmospheric soundtrack-like instrumentals - all equally mysterious, and fitting backgrounds for Noa Kurzweil's indolent singing, giving off a strong "lady in the radiator" vibe. As dreamlike as pop music can be.
